Well, here we are at the end of 2024. This year has been tough for many reasons, but Iām sticking with optimism when I say that it has also been a great one. Iāve been able to explore Charlotte, North Carolina as a local, enjoyed countless delicious meals, and Iāve spent amazing time with family and friends.
I want to thank everyone who subscribes to this newsletter, without your support Iād just be shouting into the void ā so know that itās much appreciated. I hope you all have a wonderful, restful holiday season surrounded by friends and family. Iām looking forward to the things weāre going to accomplish together in 2025.
To end 2024, I wanted to share With Jamieās inaugural BEST OF THE YEAR list! This is VERY subjective, but I figured that the end of each year is always filled with best of lists ā so why not enter the game? Now, I am well aware that my readership has extremely strong opinions, and this will lead to some debate and head scratching ā but keep in mind: the idea here is to share my favorite things from 2024.
That said, I do want to hear those strong opinions you all have ā I havenāt seen, read, watched, or listened to a fraction of what is out there so please tell me what Iām missing! What were your favorite books, meals, movies, plays, and podcasts of the year? What am I crazy for having on here? Next year we might make this a reader-voted list, but for now it is just me putting myself out there (and expecting some backlash). I hope you find it helpful and see a great rec or two you can use over the holidays.

As we wrap up 2024 and look to 2025, there are so few people capable of giving us the clear-headed insight and perspective we're all craving. But fortunately for us, Sam Harris, our final Lunch With Jamie guest of the year, is one of those people. He will be joining us live and in person on Dec 18th at Genghis Cohen at 12pm. You can purchase tickets here.
Lunch will be served from 12pm-1pm PT
The conversation will be from 1pm-2:30pm PT.
We will cover a wide range of topics, but the future of the Democratic party will be the focal point.
